Pier Dental Centre: Designing Storefront Signage That Works
Client: 123Dentist Project: Pier Dental Centre window graphics
Pier Dental Centre needed window signage that would stop foot traffic and read clearly from the street, without sacrificing patient privacy inside the clinic.
The Problem
We started with a full sightline study, checking visibility from three directions along the street to find which window sections carried the most exposure to passersby. The existing graphics were also fading into the glass, hard to read once sunlight and street reflections hit them.
To fix that, we moved the artwork to the first surface of the glass. This removes the reflection layer between the viewer and the design, so the messaging stays sharp and legible at any time of day.
The Process
From there, we developed eight design concepts for the client to compare, testing different color palettes, iconography, and layouts for the mountain and wave motif that became Pier Dental's signature look. Working through the options together, we landed on a clean, wayfinding friendly design that balances brand identity with clarity: bold service call outs, a QR code for booking, and a "Welcoming New Patients" panel positioned for maximum street visibility.
The Production
For production, we used UV printing with white ink for crisp, opaque color on glass, and printed on recyclable material to keep the project's carbon footprint down. Privacy film was applied to the areas requiring discretion, so the clinic keeps its aesthetic while protecting patients inside.
The Result
The result is a storefront that reads clearly from the sidewalk, reflects the clinic's brand, and welcomes new patients the moment they walk up.
